A Bolrio product
ShieldX removes ads, trackers, pop-ups, and malicious content everywhere you browse — making the web faster, quieter, and more private.
Core capabilities
ShieldX uses declarative filtering and a curated ruleset to block the full spectrum of unwanted web content.
Removes banners, video pre-rolls, interstitials, and sponsored content across every site you visit, including YouTube and social media.
Blocks third-party tracking scripts, pixels, and fingerprinting attempts so advertisers can't build a profile of your browsing habits.
Warns before you visit known phishing sites and malicious URLs using up-to-date security filter lists.
Dismisses cookie consent dialogs and annoyance overlays automatically so you can read without interruption.
By blocking heavyweight ad scripts and trackers, pages load significantly faster and consume less memory and battery.
Write your own filter rules to block exactly what you want and allow what you need — full control, no coding required.

Common questions
Is ShieldX free?
Yes, ShieldX is completely free to install and use. No premium tier, no subscription, no ads inside the extension.
Does ShieldX slow down my browser?
No — ShieldX is built on Chrome's Manifest V3 declarative network request API, which offloads filtering to the browser engine. Blocking actually makes pages load faster by removing heavyweight ad scripts before they run.
Can I allow ads on sites I want to support?
Yes. Click the ShieldX icon on any page to pause protection for that domain or add it to your allowlist in Settings. You have full control.
What filter lists does ShieldX use?
ShieldX ships with industry-standard lists including EasyList, EasyPrivacy, and additional curated lists for regional and language-specific coverage. You can enable or disable individual lists in the Settings page.
Who makes ShieldX?
